Taman Sari Waterfall is one of the most beautiful places for a swim close to Ubud. The waterfall starts as a single drop and then divides into multiple cascades which flow over the rock making it especially picturesque. The spectacular emerald pool is large and deep

enough for a proper swim. It’s also incredibly easy to walk to so if you’re not keen on slippery trails, this is the one for you.

Perang Pandan Desa Tenganan

Perang pandan (Pandan battle) is a Balinese tradition of ritual combat with clubs made of pandan.

Perang pandan is practiced by the Bali Aga population of Tenganan village in Karangasem Regency, Indonesia. The people of Tenganan are devotees of the deity Indra. To honour Indra as a warrior god, many major religious festivals in Tenganan involve a ritualistic battle.

The tradition of mageret pandan is said to have originated from Hindu mythology about King Maya Denawa and Indra. King Maya Denawa claimed himself a god greater than the entire Hindu pantheon. He forbade the people from performing their religious ceremonies, which angered the gods. Indra himself fought and defeated Maya Denawa for his blasphemy, and their battle was commemorated through mageret pandan ritual.

From the other world Trunyan

In the traditional Balinese village of Trunyan, the dead are not buried. They are not cremated or burned on a pyre or, as in the case of the Zoroastrians, hoisted up a hill to be torn apart by vultures.

They are simply laid on the ground and left to rot. Hiking Trunyan hill is one of the off the beaten path hiking trails in Bali. Trunyan hill is located in Kintamani above Trunyan village. The views during the hike and at the summit of Trunyan Hill are something special and pretty unusual for Bali. You are walking on the crater ridge and have views on Trunyan village below, Mount Abang, Mount Batur, Lake Batur and on a clear day you can even see Mount Rinjani in Lombok and Mount Agung in Bali.

Purification ceremony/Melukat ceremony

The melukat ceremony is a ritual to cleanse the body, both spiritually and physically, from our present life as well as past lives, from the negative elements by washing the body in holy water. This very spiritual ritual takes place in the mountains where the rivers meet and are fed by natural spring water which feed the organic crops that grow in the area.
